The primary uses of the book is reading and to get the knowledge from the books. Apart from this primary function of the books, these are also used for the other purposes. Books might be studied by students as the subject of a writing and analysis exercise in the form of a book report.
A book can be known as an artist’s book, if a book can be artistic and has artifacts related to different subjects. Books are sometimes used for their exterior appearance in order to decorate the room mainly the study room. During the book review, books might be used by the professional writer. A book might be used among a group of people in book clubs for the social and academic discussions.
Some books are used to perform the plays and operas. In the village areas a group of people read the books like the Gita, the Mohabharat, and the Ramayana etc. during the night times generally in the temples and holy places like Mathas. Different people belong to different regions, used to use their sacred scriptures of their religion. As the Christians read the Bible, Mohamudians read the Koran, the Buddhist people used to read the Tripitakas.
The Hindus used to use many granthas like the Vishnupurana, the Shiva purana, the Ramayana, the Padmapurana, The Srimad Bhagabat Gita, The Vedas etc. The purpose of such type of book reading meant to satisfy their metaphysical quarries and also to gain moksh. So, in the holy religious places like temples, mosques, churches, and gurudwara, huge collections of religious books are found.
It is also one type of business strategy to collect different kinds of books in the book stores, in order to drag the attentions of the readers having different tastes towards the different books. There are many bookstores which also provide people with reading facilities. These stores have separate reading rooms where people can borrow the books and read it and then return. Much of this concept has been taken over by the libraries.
Nowadays, the bookstores have remained a place to browse through the books for the purpose of purchase. But the thing that still is keenly awaited is the arrival of an old friend to buy the books. Many such friends from yesteryears love to gather in such bookstores to reminisce about their youthful days. It seems that, with the fading interest in reading the books, people are nowadays also forgetting the bookstore cultures.
